I am so lucky today! Another Guest Blogger!

My oldest granddaughter, Haley, made this birthday card for her best friend.  How lucky can I get?  Two little talents helping their Granny out today.  All the paper came from a page kit by American Crafts called Backyard.  The popsicle embellishments are from the same kit.  The birthday greeting was cut using the Cricut with the Hello Kitty cartridge.  My granddaughters have been busy girls today.

I have a Guest Artist on my blog today!

Today some of my grandchildren are here.  My 10 year old granddaughter, Katie, wanted to do some crafting.  She made the tree from the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.  She used pop dots for the leaves.  The large owl was stamped with Grey Wool ink from Close to my Heart.  She loves my Martha Stewart markers and used them to color both stamped owl.  The large one was stamped on watercolor paper and cut out.  The same technique was used on the happy little girl who just happens to resemble Katie!  She added the pink boots to complete the picture.  The great thing about kids is they learn so fast and are not afraid to try anything.  She has been working in my craft room since she was about 4.  She is a pro now!!  Thanks for sharing, Katie!

Just to let you know.....

This card was made to teach a class at the local community college.  As things do happen, it snowed in the SUNNY SOUTH and my class was cancelled.
I learned that my friend Michelle Rodgers of http://www.stampersdream.com/ was under the weather so I felt I should send it to her via email.  You really need to visit her online store and blog.  She is a talented artist and a really nice lady.  I took cardmaking classes from her when she had a retail stamp and scrapbooking store.  I miss seeing her at the store but NOW I can shop anytime (like I did about 11:30 pm last night.)
This card is on mauve Bazzil cardstock.  Flowers were added and gold stickles applied to the center.  I used a green botanical strip cut with a wave.  The stamped message and flourish were stamped in mauve also.  I hope you like it.  Not a difficult card but pretty!

Thinking of you

Today's card seems a bit nostaligic to me.  It can be a message sent to a childhood friend that you are thinking of.  Sending memories of summer days playing together on the tire swing.  The stamp set is from Stampin Up stamp set Branch Out.  I used various colors of green from Versa Color ink cubes for the leaves.  The corners of each the first two layers are rounded by Creative Memories corner rounder.  I added small brads to corners of the top card piece.  Does this make you want to get in touch with an old friend?

Valentine Card

Valentine Card.  Believe it or not this was a card I was going to teach in my first ever card class at the local Community College.  Well, the class was postponed due to SNOW in the deep south!  Since the rescheduling will occur after Valentine's Day, I need to design another card.  This was a simple card on pale blue-grey cardstock.  Three hearts are used cut from my Cricut.  The white scalloped heart is embossed on my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder.  A Martha Stewart border punch was used for the side border.  A Cricut cut "love" was added and three punched hearts.  I then added Crystal Stickles for sparkle.  I wish I could tell you the printed cardstock name.  I bought it at Hobby Lobby and it was a page covered with the old fasioned Valentines we used in grade school.

Valentines LOVE Card

A little Valentine's love.  The base card (A2) is embossed on my Cuttlebug with the Hearts folder.  The LOVE center is cut from my Cricut with the Home Accents cartridge.  I then stamped little red hearts in various spots on the base card and outlined them in black ink to make them "pop".  I wrote "XOXO" in heart on LOVE die cut.  Fun and fast!
